For Family and Friends

We strive for a quality of care that is concerned, personal and compassionate. Part of that commitment extends to our patients’ visitors. We know that friends and family members play an important part in a patient's healing process. Their visits help make the time pass more quickly and often take the patient’s mind off of their illness.

Visits from family and friends may be “good medicine” for you, so we encourage guests. However, we ask that they follow these guidelines while they’re visiting:

  • Guests may not smoke anywhere on the hospital grounds.
  • Guests must wear shirts and shoes at all times.
  • Guests with colds, sore throats or any contagious diseases should check with your nurse before they visit you.
  • Guests need to maintain quiet behavior and avoid unnecessary noise.
  • Guests may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments, or when the doctor or nurse needs to see you.

Thank you for your cooperation! Additional visitor information is below.

Healing Garden

HSHS St. Nicholas has a lovely ground level Healing Garden located near the Taylor Drive entrance adjacent to the hospital’s Chapel. The Healing Garden is designed for quiet contemplation for patients, families and visitors. It features a statue of St. Francis of Assisi, outdoor seating, and beautiful trees, shrubs, and flowers.
