Community Invited to Upcycling/Homemade Craft Fair

Sheboygan – HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital will host a craft fair featuring items handmade from repurposed material, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on Thursday, Dec.14.

This is a great opportunity to find unique, locally-made gifts for the holidays. About a dozen vendors will feature items including greeting cards, baby items, hats, jewelry, purses and more, in the Christopher Room, located on the first floor of the hospital.

“When we think about recycling, we often concentrate on the collection and reprocessing of material and forget about the reduction and reuse of existing items for other purposes,” said Dan Rocheleau, Campus and Sustainability Facilitator at HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital. “The reuse of products gives them another life and is far less impactful on our resources and the environment. Plus, this gives us the chance to showcase the talents of our colleagues, several of which are vendors at the show.”

The Upcycling/Homemade Craft Fair is hosted each year by The Green Team – a group of Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) – Eastern Wisconsin Division colleagues that share the common goal of identifying, educating and implementing sustainability programs that support the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis’ mission of reverence for the earth.
